CAA Seminar
It was an honor for our Managing Partner, Mr. Mansoor Jamal Malik and Senior Associate, Mr. Zarrar Mir to deliver a presentation at a seminar conducted by Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Oman on the topic of “Aircraft Leases and Mortgages” on Wednesday, 28th May 2025.
The seminar aimed to provide the CAA team with an overview of the legal framework governing the recognition of aircraft leases and mortgages, the rights and remedies available to the transaction parties, and the role the CAA is expected to play in such matters. Key aspects covered by AMJ was Oman’s Civil Aviation Law and relevant regulations, as well as international treaties that Oman has ratified—including the Chicago Convention (1944) and the Cape Town Convention (2001).
The seminar also included many questions from CAA team and was therefore interactive in nature and there were discussions on various points during the seminar regarding the CAA’s role.
The CAA team in attendance comprised members of the CAA’s Registration, Legal and Airworthiness departments. It was a pleasure to share knowledge and collaborate with such a committed and professional group. We look forward to many more informative and interactive forums being organized by CAA.
