Maritime and Shipping

Oman’s ambition to position itself as the trade and transhipment hub of choice in the Indian Ocean has driven billions of dollars of investment into the expansion of the Sohar, Salalah and Duqm ports and free zones. The significant rise in maritime traffic and volume of goods entering Oman by sea is expected to accelerate further as the country continues to enhance its port infrastructure and adds new services and facilities for both major carriers and vessels at sea.
