Ahmed specializes in Regulatory law and has been working with the Firm for over 15 years. Ahmed’s expertise in particular, includes advising clients on all regulatory aspects of share transfers, mergers and acquisitions, establishment of funds, registration of security documents with the full range of Omani Government ministries, including the Oman Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MOCIIP), Financial Services Authority (FSA). Ahmed has fostered excellent working relationships with officials at the FSA, MOCIIP and other regulatory authorities in Oman.

Experience

Regulatory
  • Assisted in drafting regulations for implementation of the new Competition and Anti-monopoly law in Oman.
  • Assisted in the preparation of agenda, invitation and minutes of General Meetings for public joint stock companies and closed joint stock companies and attend such meetings as the legal advisor and Secretary.
  • Assisted in the incorporation of limited liability companies, public and closed joint stock companies, including 100% foreign owned companies.
  • Acted as legal advisor for a number of public and closed joint stock companies in relation to annual general meetings/ extra-ordinary general meetings.
  • Assisted in the share transfers, capital increase, change of shareholder’s name and change of company’s name for an Omani company which is owned by an Emirati holding company based in Dubai who owns shopping malls, retail, and leisure establishments in the Middle East and North Africa.
  • Acted in relation to grant of an Investment and Management Licence for all civil airports in Oman to the Oman Aviation Group SAOC by the Public Authority for Civil Aviation and usufruct agreements.
  • Assisting in the transfer and registration of an industrial plot of land covering an area in excess of 33,531 sq. meters on behalf of a prominent construction and development company in Oman. 
  • Advised on the distribution of 54 agricultural, commercial and industrial plots of land in settlement of an estate in compliance with Shariah law principles in force in Oman. The matter included the preparation of a complex agreement for distribution of overall properties of the estate and the segmentation and allocation of the properties in coordination with the Ministry of Housing.
