Angad is an associate in AMJ’s Projects and Commercial team. Angad has a broad range of experience in corporate and commercial matters, with focus on tax laws and advises his clients across a wide-ranging spectrum of sectors including telecom, infrastructure, energy, consumer products, retail, real-estate, automobile, aviation, education, media, software etc. His sector experience includes natural resources, and telecom infrastructure (passive) projects, real estate, infrastructure, construction and general corporate commercial matters.
Prior to joining AMJ, Angad has worked in a leading Indian law firm where he advised multinational domestic companies across several sectors in India as well as in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain and Oman, through a network of affiliated firms. He has also worked as a litigation and compliance legal officer, in India’s largest online higher education company providing industry-relevant programs in Data Science, Technology, Management and Law, to students, working professionals and enterprises, designed and delivered in collaboration with top universities across the globe.
Experience
- Conducting a comprehensive sectoral study on waste management laws in Oman, advising the Authority for Public Service Regulation (APSR) on the proposed structure for the new law, in light of the existing Omani laws and assisted the APSR in drafting a novel waste management law in Oman.
- Advising potential bidders on a non-exclusive basis in respect of the auction of land blocks for green hydrogen projects comprising of various distinct components including power generation from renewal resources, hydrogen production, production and sale of end products such as Ammonia.
- Advising potential bidders on Omani law analysis on agreement structuring, company formation, tax implications and tax structure in relation to acquisition of participating interest in oilfield blocks in Oman.
- Conducting a due diligence on the existing legislative framework for railways in Oman and identifying the Project related approvals required to be obtained by the client for participating in the Oman Etihad Railway Project.
- Conducting a due diligence on the existing medical legislative framework for development of a cyclotron facility in Oman and assisting the parties by identifying the relevant licenses and permits, which may be required to be obtained by them for operation of the facility.
- Advising a client on negotiating a mineral exploration and mining concession agreement and sea salt extraction and processing concession agreement with the Ministry of Energy and Minerals.
- Advising developers, contractors and sub-contractors on construction related disputes and on matters relating to tenancy law and other Omani real-estate laws.
- Advising a potential bidder in respect of its participation in a competitive bidding procedure to acquire passive infrastructure (towers) and data centre assets in Oman.
