Ravinder is a Projects and Energy Partner in AMJ. He has been based in Oman since 2012.

Ravinder has a broad range of experience in projects across various sectors, including conventional and renewable energy, hydrogen, water and wastewater, natural resources, mining, real estate, construction, infrastructure, and telecommunications. He advises lenders, sponsors, developers, contractors, consultants and oil and gas multinationals on Omani law.

Experience

Airports, Ports, Logistics, Public Private Partnership and Industrial Projects
  • Advising the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Oman in connection with the grant of concessionaire rights to a major international provider for the development, operation, and maintenance of a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility at Muscat International Airport.
  • Advised Green Wheel Recycling Middle East LLC on all legal aspects of a landmark concession agreement with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for the development and operation of Oman’s first ship recycling facility.
  • Advised Synergy Investments LLC in negotiating a concession agreement with the Government of Oman (represented by the Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technology) for the establishment of an integrated vehicle monitoring and real-time tracking system to modernise Oman’s transport infrastructure.
  • Advised Oman’s ASYAD Group in connection with the negotiation and conclusion of a Development and Operation Management Agreement and Usufruct Agreement with the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) for the development, management and operation of a dry port at Al Rawdah within the Special Economic Zone.
  • Advising developers of Oman’s first polysilicon production facility (100 KPTA) in Sohar Freezone, including review and negotiation of core project agreements, and supported the Project Company in connection with the investment by Future Fund Oman (FFO) into the project.
  • Advising Baosteel on the establishment of a green steel manufacturing complex in Oman.
  • Advised Moon Walk Systems FZCO on the setting up of a major cryptocurrency mining project in Salalah Freezone, Sultanate of Oman.
  • Advising ACME Solar Holdings Private Limited on all Omani law aspects of establishing a green ammonia project in the Duqm Special Economic Zone.
Green Hydrogen & Green Ammonia Projects
  • Advising the Amnah consortium (Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, Blue Power Partners, and Al Khadra Partners) on the development of a green hydrogen and ammonia project.


Mixed-Use & Leisure Developments
  • Acted for the developers of Khazaen Economic City in respect of the development, operation and management of a mixed use development with logistics, industrial, commercial, and residential sectors.
  • Advised Omran on the development of the draft law, regulations, and guidelines for the development of a large-scale mix use property project in respect of the Madinat Al Irfan Urban Development Project.


Privatisations, Plant Transfers & Power Projects
  • Advised Electricity Holding Company SAOC (EHC) and the Government of Oman on the partial privatisation of Oman Electricity Transmission Company SAOC.
  • Advised Oman Electricity Transmission Company on the operational protocol and electricity direct sales agreement between the electricity producing companies licensed by the Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR) and Cost Reflective Tariff consumers.


Renewable Energy IPPs, IWPs and Waste Infrastructure
  • Renewable IPPs - Ibri III Solar IPP (advising the successful bidders on all aspects of Omani law), Manah I & II Solar IPP Projects (advised the sponsors on all aspects of the projects), Riyah 1 & 2 Wind Projects and North Oman Solar (100 MW each) (advised the successful bidder on its bid, including regulatory issues).
